Zinnias are annuals, so they’ll grow for one season and produce seeds, but the original plant will not come back in subsequent years. They have bright, solitary, daisy-like flower heads on a single, erect stem, which makes them great for use as a cutting flower or as food for butterflies. Plant in full sun.

The Profusion Series Zinnia lend a soft textural feel that contrasts nicely with the glowing hot colors of the flowers. The vibrant flat flowers are about 2 inches in diameter, and the plants grow to just 12 to 15 inches tall and wide. Use them in borders and beds, or plant them in containers.

State Fair Series Zinnia have double 5 to 6 in. Flowers bloom June to frost—an explosion of red, orange, purple, yellow and pink on 2 1/2-ft. stems. This plant attracts butterflies.
